How a Grand Gimeno wedding DJ plans your day

DJ Wrex has played 5 weddings at Grand Gimeno since 2022, with 2 more on the calendar, most recently in May 2026. Grand Gimeno is a historic Spanish Colonial Revival estate in Old Towne Orange, with the Grand Central reception hall, the Olive Grove and a courtyard for ceremonies and cocktail hour. It seats up to about 300 guests, and a Grand Gimeno wedding DJ plans for the spaces you choose.

02

Indoor and outdoor sound

Ceremonies and receptions can be indoors or outdoors, so we plan sound for each space and the transition between them with your coordinator. Ceremony sound is set up where you say your vows, with a wireless microphone for your officiant, and a second system can cover cocktail hour in another space.

03

Live musicians and family music

Grand Gimeno weddings often include live music. We have worked weddings here with string-quartet covers for the processional and a violin cover for the bride, and with ceremony musicians who handle the ceremony before we take over for cocktail hour and the reception. We also build cultural music into the dance set, including OPM for the family, and the dance floors here have ranged from 90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop to a surprise live set after the reception.

04

Small moments that matter

Couples here have asked for specific songs for the processional, the parents and sponsors, the bride's walk and a private last dance for just the two of them after the guests' last dance. Tell us early, and we plan the cues so each moment lands.

05

What to settle before your planning meeting

  • Where the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be held
  • Whether you have live musicians and how they will hand off to us
  • Songs for each walk, your first dance and your last dance, plus a do-not-play list
  • Any cultural music you want in the dance set
  • Your coordinator's timeline and the venue's end time
06

How planning works

Planning calls are unlimited, and the first is a 30-minute video call. Use the planning app to import playlists from Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube and mark your must-play and do-not-play songs. A final planning meeting of up to 60 minutes happens 30 to 60 days before the wedding to lock in the timeline.

07

What you can count on

DJ Wrex plays one event per day, so your wedding is the only one on the calendar. Coverage is flat-rate with no overtime. We bring backup equipment, keep a team DJ on standby and carry liability insurance, with a free certificate of insurance for your venue. If you are planning to get married there, check your date and we will take it from there.
