LGBTQ+ Wedding DJ in Los Angeles

DJ Wrex and Synergy Events DJ and MC LGBTQ+ weddings across Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Temecula. Your names, your traditions, your music, and a dance floor that stays full all night.

Our approach

Your wedding, run your way

We plan every wedding around the couple in front of us, not a script built for someone else. You decide the order of the night, which traditions you keep and which you drop, and how each moment is introduced.

DJ Wrex plans the details with you and your coordinator, then MCs the night so your guests always know what is happening next.

Couples who booked DJ Wrex as their LGBTQ+ wedding DJ share their reviews on The Knot. Or check your date.

Your MC

Announcements that get it right

We confirm names, pronunciations, pronouns and titles before the wedding, and we never fall back on bride-and-groom defaults. Your wedding party, families and entrances are introduced exactly the way you want.

Your final planning meeting, up to 60 minutes, covers the timeline, announcements and music so nothing is left to guesswork on the day.

The music

A dance floor that sounds like you

Planning starts with your must-play and do-not-play lists, your guests and the feel you want for the night. From there DJ Wrex reads the room live, blending open-format hip-hop, R&B, house, Latin, throwbacks and Top 40 with live mixing.

Add lighting and effects like uplighting, a monogram, moving heads or CO2 for the big moments.

LGBTQ+ weddings

Looking for a LGBTQ+ wedding DJ? This guide covers how a LGBTQ+ wedding DJ works, what to plan for and how to start the conversation with DJ Wrex at Synergy Events.

01

What an LGBTQ+ wedding DJ does

A wedding DJ is the person who leads your reception, and that includes how you and your people are introduced. For LGBTQ+ couples, the details matter: names, pronouns, titles, and the traditions you keep, change or skip. DJ Wrex plans each wedding around the couple, not around a template, and runs the night so your guests always know what is happening next.

At your wedding, DJ Wrex will:

  • Confirm names, pronunciations, pronouns and titles before the wedding and use exactly what you give us
  • Build the order of the night with you, including which traditions to keep and which to drop
  • Work as your MC for entrances, toasts, dances and announcements
  • Mix open-format music live so the dance floor stays full
  • Provide professional sound and wireless microphones sized to your venue
  • Coordinate with your planner, venue and other vendors
02

Introductions and entrances

Your entrance is one of the first moments your guests see, so it should feel like you. Some couples enter together, some separately, some with their wedding party, some with chosen family. We plan the order and the song with you, and we prepare custom edits when you want a specific cut. The MC introduces everyone as you have told us, with the names, titles and pronouns you chose, rather than defaults like bride and groom.

03

Traditions, your way

Every tradition is optional. These are some of the choices couples make.

  • First dance. One shared dance, two separate dances, or a dance with the whole room.
  • Family dances. A parent dance, a dance with a parent figure, a dance with chosen family, or none.
  • Bouquet and garter. Keep them, skip them, or replace them with something that fits you.
  • Toasts. A short list of speakers, or an open microphone, with the MC cueing each one.
  • Your own moments. A cultural tradition, a family ritual, a surprise performance. Tell us and we plan the music and timing.
04

Music for a dance floor that sounds like you

Planning starts with your must-play and do-not-play lists, your guests and the feel you want. From there DJ Wrex reads the room live, blending open-format hip-hop, R&B, house, Latin, throwbacks and Top 40. He mixes live, so the music can follow the energy instead of a fixed playlist.

  • Your list. Songs you cannot live without and songs you never want to hear, collected in our planning app.
  • Your crowd. College friends, coworkers, grandparents and cousins each get their moment.
  • Your pace. Cocktail hour, dinner and dancing each have their own mix.

The app imports playlists from Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, and planning calls are unlimited.

05

Lighting and effects

Lighting changes how a room feels and photographs. Depending on your venue, you can add uplighting in your colors, dance floor lighting, a monogram, moving heads or CO2 for the big moments, along with cold sparklers and Dancing on the Cloud. See our wedding add-ons.

How planning works

  1. Check your date. Send your date and venue through our contact page.
  2. Talk it through. If DJ Wrex is available, we send packages and set up a 30-minute video call.
  3. Plan in the app. Add songs, names, pronouns, pronunciations and special moments.
  4. Hold the planning meeting. A final meeting of up to 60 minutes, 30 to 60 days before the wedding, covers the timeline, announcements and music so nothing is left to guesswork.
  5. Enjoy the night. We arrive early, test everything and run the reception to your plan.

10

Planning your day with an LGBTQ+ wedding DJ

Your wedding should sound like the two of you. An LGBTQ+ wedding DJ listens first: how you want to be introduced, what the grand entrance looks like, which traditions you are keeping and which you are leaving out. Rex builds the timeline around your answers, not around a template.

We use the planning app for the details. Import your playlists from Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube, flag the songs that matter most and list anything you want skipped. If you want to change the usual order of the evening, such as the entrances, the dances or the toasts, tell us and we will plan the cues with you and your coordinator.

An LGBTQ+ wedding DJ should also make sure the people with a microphone know what to expect. We can walk through the speaker order with you, confirm names and pronunciations and keep the announcements in the tone you choose. Planning calls are unlimited, and a final planning meeting 30 to 60 days before the wedding confirms everything.

DJ Wrex plays one event per day and carries liability insurance, with a free certificate of insurance for your venue. To get started, check your date.
