What Is Kislap?
Kislap is a free directory for finding Filipino-owned businesses in the U.S. Listings are organized by category and city, and a map shows what’s near you, from restaurants and bakeries to photographers, florists and DJs. The name means “sparkle” in Tagalog.

Why Couples Look for a Filipino-Owned Wedding DJ
Filipino and Filipino-American weddings often have moments that the DJ and MC need to plan for ahead of time. Guest lists span three or four generations, family travels in from across the country and overseas, and certain traditions run on their own timing. Working with a Filipino-owned wedding DJ means less explaining and more planning.
Here’s how we handle a few of the moments that come up most:
- The money dance. We set it up with pins for cash and a QR code for Zelle and Venmo, so guests who don’t carry cash can still join in. The MC keeps it moving so it stays fun and doesn’t eat into dance time.

DJ Wrex (Rex Balbuena) is a Filipino American DJ and MC who leads Synergy Events, the company he co-owns with his wife, Amanda. He’s known for reading a room, live scratching on turntables, and running a clear, warm program as MC.
